Carsmart Inc ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Salvager mobile application and website at salvager.bid (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use the Service.

Information We Collect

When you create an account or use Salvager, we collect:

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and (if applicable) company name.
• Listing information: Photos, make, model, year, condition, and location of vehicles you list for sale.
• Communication information: SMS messages sent or received through the Service.
• Usage information: How you interact with the app, including device type, IP address, and approximate location.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To send SMS verification codes during signup.
• To notify dealers and junkyards of new listings that match their preferences.
• To send you SMS notifications about bids on your listings.
• To improve the Service and develop new features.
• To comply with legal obligations.

SMS Messaging

SMS messages are sent only to users who have explicitly opted in via the dedicated SMS consent checkbox during account signup in the Salvager app, or by enabling SMS Notifications in the app's Profile screen. Providing a phone number for account verification does not by itself constitute consent to receive ongoing SMS notifications — consent is separate and optional.

If you opt in, you agree to receive SMS messages from Salvager (Carsmart Inc), including bid alerts, listing notifications, and account verification codes. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your activity. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any Salvager message, or by toggling SMS Notifications off in the app. Reply HELP for assistance. See our SMS Opt-In page for full details.

We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Share Your Information

We share information only as follows:

• With dealers, junkyards, and towing companies on our network: When you list a vehicle, the listing details (excluding your full contact information) are shared with potential buyers in your area so they can place bids.
• With service providers: We use trusted third parties (such as Twilio for SMS delivery, Google Firebase for hosting and authentication) to operate the Service. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons: We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of users.

Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing bids@salvager.bid.

Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us at bids@salvager.bid. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Children's Privacy

Salvager is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Salvager mobile application and website at salvager.bid (the "Service"), operated by Carsmart Inc ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to use Salvager. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

Account Registration

To use Salvager, you must create an account by providing accurate information, including your name, phone number, and ZIP code. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Listings and Transactions

• Sellers may list vehicles for sale through the Service. By listing a vehicle, you represent that you are the legal owner or authorized to sell it.
• Buyers (dealers, junkyards, towing companies) may place bids on listed vehicles. By placing a bid, you commit to honoring that bid if the seller accepts it.
• Salvager facilitates connections between buyers and sellers but is not a party to any transaction. We are not responsible for the condition, title, or transfer of any vehicle, or for payment between parties.

Fees

Salvager charges sellers a small percentage of the final sale price of each vehicle sold through the Service. Current fees are displayed in the app and may be updated from time to time. Fees are deducted from the final sale amount.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• List vehicles you do not own or are not authorized to sell.
• Provide false or misleading information about a vehicle.
• Use the Service to engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Attempt to circumvent the bidding system or evade fees.
• Use automated means to access or scrape the Service.

SMS Communications

Account creation does not enroll you in SMS notifications. SMS notifications (bid alerts, listing notifications) are sent only to users who have separately and explicitly opted in via the SMS consent checkbox during signup in the Salvager app, or via the SMS Notifications setting in the app's Profile screen. Account verification SMS messages (one-time passcodes during signup) are transactional and may be sent as part of the signup process. Users may opt out of ongoing SMS at any time by replying STOP to any Salvager message or by toggling SMS Notifications off in the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Service Area

Salvager currently operates in the Denver, CO metropolitan area. Coverage may expand to additional regions over time. Listings outside the service area may not receive bids.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We make no representations about the quality, safety, or legality of vehicles listed on the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carsmart Inc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including disputes between buyers and sellers. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Carsmart Inc, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting bids@salvager.bid.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
