You can ask us to delete your Salvager account at any time. You do not need a reason, and there is no charge.
How to request deletion
Send an email to bids@salvager.bid from the email address registered to your Salvager account, with the subject line Delete my account.
Please send the request from the email address on the account. That is how we confirm the request is genuinely yours. If you can no longer access that address, email us anyway and we will verify your identity another way before deleting anything.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be used
- Your profile: name, company name, email address, phone number and postcode
- Your SMS and notification preferences, and your device notification token
What is kept, and why
Vehicle listings and bids that formed part of a completed or in-progress deal are anonymised rather than removed. Your name and contact details are stripped from them, but the record of the transaction itself remains so that the other party to that deal keeps an accurate history of what they bought or sold.
We may also retain a minimal record where we are required to by law, for example for tax or fraud-prevention purposes. Anything retained for that reason is kept no longer than the law requires.
How long it takes
We action deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them, and will email you to confirm once it is done. In practice it is usually much faster.
Deleting the app is not the same as deleting your account
Removing Salvager from your phone stops the app running on that device, but it does not delete your account or the information above. Use the request process on this page.
Questions
If you are unsure what deleting your account would mean for a deal already in progress, email bids@salvager.bid and ask before you request it. See also our Privacy Policy.
